Partner & CEO
Jacob is a Partner and Chief Executive Officer at Modum, where he oversees business development, client relations, and strategic partnerships. He also advises clients on estate and succession planning, family governance and tax efficient investing.
Prior to Modum, Jacob practiced as a tax, family governance, and estate planning advisor in various law firms, where he advised UHNW individuals, family offices, and institutional investors in the design and implementation of investment structures for family-owned businesses, real estate, private equity, and financial assets, amongst others.
Jacob holds a bachelor’s degree in law and a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance, both from ITAM, as well as a master’s degree in taxation from the University of Oxford. He is a certified Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP), an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), and holds a Series 65 exam license.
Jacob has participated in several academic and professional conferences and published the book International Exchange of Taxpayers’ Information (Thomson Reuters, 2016).
Gerardo Ledinich

Gerardo is a Partner and Chief Financial Officer at Modum. In addition to leading the firm’s financial operations, he is focused on aligning business and finance strategy to add value. Gerardo also serves as the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer, promoting a culture of compliance and putting clients’ interests first.
Before Modum, Gerardo worked at two pension funds in Mexico, where he focused on performance measurement and attribution analysis techniques. He began his career in finance at a brokerage firm, developing optimal execution trading algorithms for the equities desk as well as arbitrage models for the firm’s proprietary account.
Gerardo obtained a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from ITAM and a master’s degree in finance from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. He is an active member of the American Statistical Association and holds a Series 65 exam license.
Baltasar Peral
Partner & COO
Baltasar is a Partner and Chief Operating Officer at Modum, where he leads the firm’s relationships with sell-side institutions, as well as client relations and business operations. He is also involved in fostering client engagement; thoroughly understanding clients’ needs and advising on family governance.
Baltasar started his career as a commodities merchant at a multinational agriculture company, where he developed expertise in sales, logistics, and customer relations. He later assumed the role of director of operations at a family-owned business focused on agriculture, logistics, and transportation. In this position, Baltasar played a pivotal role in pairing business growth with efficient processes in sales and operations.
Baltasar holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from ITESM, an MBA degree from Columbia Business School, and a Series 65 exam license.
Jendanny Raña
Partner & CIO
Jendanny is a Partner and Chief Investment Officer at Modum, where he directs the portfolio management, trading, and research activites of the firm. An advocate of new technologies, he is focused on advancing processes to reduce uncertainty and improve investment outcomes.
Before Modum, Jendanny held several executive roles at two pension funds in Mexico. His contributions led to top industry ratings for risk and regulatory compliance, as well as to the efficient management of portfolios valued in excess of forty billion dollars. He also worked at a hedge fund specializing in quantitative methods, where he developed and implemented portfolio optimization models.
Jendanny has two bachelor’s degrees from ITAM, one in applied mathematics and another in economics. He is certified as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), a Chartered Alternative Investments Analyst (CAIA) and a Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
